Vietnam attends Indo-Pacific Army Chiefs Conference in Thailand
PANO - A high-ranking military delegation, led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, took part in the 11th Indo-Pacific Army Chiefs Conference (IPACC) in Bangkok, Thailand, on September 9.
Under the theme “Achieving Sustainable Security: A new Perspective for Indo-Pacific Armies,” the conference aims to promote trust, mutual understanding and collaboration among the land forces of countries in the region.

At the same time, the annual Indo-Pacific Armies Management Seminar (IPAMS) and Senior Enlisted Leaders Forum (SELF) were also held in the capital city of Thailand.
Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha attended and delivered an opening remark at the three events. In his speech, the Thai Prime Minister affirmed that the conferences created a foundation for army chiefs in the region to work together to ensure sustainable security.
At the events, delegates pointed out differences and put forward measures to build trust and deal with challenges.
With around 40 countries, the Indo-Pacific region covers half of the total area of the Earth and has six of the most populated countries in the world.
