Addressing the closing ceremony, Major General Nguyen Hung Thang, Deputy Director and Chief of Staff of the General Department of Logistics and Head of the Steering Committee of the exercise, noted that the event was carried out as scheduled and met all set requirements and targets, ensuring absolute safety.

The exercise contributed to assessing coordination capabilities among medical forces in international disaster consequence relief as well as in undertaking international missions in the host countries.

The event also verified the search and rescue process, transportation, receiving and treating the injured and victims at treatment facilities, group-A dangerous disease prevention and control implementation, and necessary medical equipment for disaster relief and the prevention and control of dangerous diseases.

Especially, the exercise’s steering committee and organizing panel also directed relevant units to strictly implement COVID-19 prevention and control so as to ensure health of all participating forces.

On behalf of the Chinese military medical force joining the exercise, Senior Colonel Chen Chungming, Deputy Head of the Health Department under the Ministry of Logistic Security of the Central Military Commission of China, held that the first joint exercise between the two military medical forces concluded successfully with absolute safety and fruitful results. He also hailed the good preparation of the Vietnamese side as well as the high responsibility of the participants.

He underscored that the exercise would contribute to improving the humanitarian assistance and medical relief capabilities of the two military medical forces, considering it a chance to develop cooperation between the two forces, making contribution to promoting the bilateral relations in general and the two militaries in particular.
