During the meeting, Australian Governor-General David Hurley applauded Vietnam’s peacekeeping force with high professionalism and ability to complete all assigned tasks. He affirmed that his visit to the VNDPKO, the agency responsible for the deployment of U.N. peacekeeping forces in Vietnam, has sent a strong message at the national and international level that Vietnam attaches much importance to the deployment of Vietnamese peacekeeping force to the U.N. missions. It is a responsible member of the world and a reliable partner of other countries.

The Australian Governor-General highlighted the importance of the Vietnam - Australia cooperation in performing the peacekeeping tasks, and pledged to assist Vietnam in training and educating peacekeepers. He also expressed his hope to boost cooperation with Vietnam in this field.

Addressing the event, State President Vo Van Thuong noted that the cooperation between the two countries in the filed contributes to promoting the bilateral cooperation and fostering the world’s peace as well. The state leader hoped that the cooperation would further see fruitful outcomes in many other fields, so as to bring the bilateral relations to a new height.
