Training course for Lao military journalists opens
PANO - The National Defense Journal (NDJ) on September 9 opened a training course for journalists from the Lao Defense Journal at Unit 871 of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army.
According to Major General Do Hong Lam, the NDJ’s Editor-in-Chief, improving professional skills and exchanging experience with officers of the Lao People’s Army in general and journalists of the Lao Defense Journal in particular are considered one of the most important political tasks of the unit.

Through the training course, Lao trainees will be provided with knowledge to improve their professional skills in researching, editing and writing articles. Besides, they will also have an opportunity to exchange experience with the editors and journalists of the Vietnamese NDJ, participate in field trips to Army Corps 1 and the Quang Ninh provincial Military Command of Military Region 3. The visits aim to promote solidarity between the two nations and militaries.
Especially, the NDJ’s Editorial Board and officers will directly exchange experience with Lao trainees so that they would apply what they’ve learned to their mission performance at their unit.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Head of the Lao Delegation, Lieutenant Colonel Thimsao Duongchampa thanked Vietnam’s General Department of Politics for the support. On behalf of the Lao delegation, he affirmed that Lao military journalists will make efforts to gain valuable knowledge and experience from the training course for their task performance in the coming time and to contribute to the training course’s success.
The training course will conclude on September 19.
