The State leader asked the Ministry of National Defense and personnel of the Engineering Company Rotation 1 and the L2FH Rotation 4 to embrace and strictly implement the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies on external affairs in accordance with the interests of the nation and the Vietnamese people and on the basis of international law and the U.N. Charter. He noted that they should proactively promote practical cooperation with other countries and international partners to improve capabilities and experience in doing their tasks as well as accelerating information dissemination on Vietnam’s participation in U.N. peacekeeping operations.

Addressing the ceremony, Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang expressed his thanks for the care for the Vietnamese peacekeeping force of the Party, the State, and the President.

He hoped that personnel of the Engineering Company Rotation 1 and the L2FH Rotation 4 will inherit and promote their achieved results, complete all assigned duties, and become ambassadors of peace and friendship, contributing to promoting good virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, and heightening the prestige and position of Vietnam and its military in the international arena.

The defense minister required them to promote heroic traditions of their units, closely collaborate with other forces at the U.N. missions and build close relationship with local people. He urged the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations and relevant agencies of the defense ministry to actively collaborate with the U.N. to run the Engineering Company Rotation 1 and L2FH Rotation 4 smoothly.
