Son La border guards congratulate Lao counterparts on Bunpimay Festival
PANO - A delegation of the Son La provincial Border Guard Command, led by its Commanding Officer Colonel Nguyen Dinh Huan, met and offered gifts to the Houaphanh provincial Military Command and provincial Public Security Department at the Border Station of Chieng Khuong Border Gate on April 8 on the occasion of the Lao New Year (Bunpimay) festival.
At the meeting, on behalf of the Son La provincial Border Guard Command, Colonel Nguyen Dinh Huan sent his best wishes to troops of the Houaphanh provincial Military Command and provincial Public Security Department on the occasion of Bunpimay Festival.

He affirmed that the two sides have collaborated well in managing and protecting border areas, fighting against crimes, and preventing and controlling the COVID-19 pandemic.
In turn, Major General Soulinphon Khamphachan, Political Commissar of the Houaphanh provincial Military Command expressed his thanks for the supports of the Son La provincial Border Guard Command over the past time. Particularly, the Vietnamese border unit presented food, clean water, medical face masks, hand sanitizers and other medical equipment to help the Lao military unit in the COVID-19 prevention and control.

The Lao officer hoped that the two sides will continue to enhance cooperation, exchange information, and organize joint border patrols to well manage the border areas in the time to come.
The program was a meaningful activity in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Laos (September 5, 1962 - 2022) and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (July 18, 1977 - 2022), contributing to tightening the solidarity and friendship among the armed forces and people living in border areas as well as reinforcing the Vietnam-Laos relationship.
