A welcome ceremony for the Vietnamese delegation was hosted by Chinese Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Wei Fenghe at the Dongxing Border Gate, Guangxi province (China). During the event, the two defense ministers joined a border landmark saluting ceremony, painted landmarks, and took photos together.

The Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange was first held in Quang Ninh province (Vietnam) and Guangxi province (China) in March, 2014. The activity held an important meaning in promoting friendship exchanges and cooperation between the two militaries as well as border guard forces, localities, and people living along the Vietnam-China shared border.

After the welcome ceremony, Defense Minister Phan Van Giang visited China and the two sides held a joint conference.

The sixth Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange was co-chaired by the two Defense Ministers with activities held in the provinces of Quang Ninh (Vietnam) and Guangxi (China) on April 24.

The People’s Army Newspaper will update activities in the framework of the exchange.
