Refresher course on military history for Lao officers wrapped up
PANO - The Vietnam Institute of Military History under the General Staff held a ceremony on October 2 in Hanoi to conclude the refresher course on military history for officers of the Lao People’s Army (LPA).

Speaking at the event, Major General Nguyen Hoang Nhien, Director of the Vietnam Institute of Military History, underlined that during the course, the Lao trainees were equipped with basic knowledge about military history research methodology and some valuable practical experience on research and scientific management of military history in the Vietnam People’s Army.
Gen. Nhien evaluated that with the spirit of hard learning of Lao officers, the enthusiasm of instructors and modern teaching methods, the set targets of the course were successfully met. He hoped that the Lao officers will apply acquired knowledge in reality in an effective and creative manner, making contribution to building an increasingly strong LPA and deepening the special solidarity between the two militaries.

For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Lanxay Pavatxay, Head of the Lao officer delegation thanked the Vietnamese instructors, officers and employees of the Vietnam Institute of Military History, Unit 871 and functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense for creating favorable conditions for Lao trainees to accomplish all contents of the course. He stressed that the result of the course was one of the important activities contributing to the construction and development of the LPA’s military history sector in the new situation.
