Reception held to mark founding anniversary of Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces
PANO - The Cuban Embassy in Vietnam held a reception on December 6 in Hanoi to celebrate the 67th anniversary of the Granma yacht’s landing, and founding anniversary of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces (December 2, 1956 - 2023), and the 63rd anniversary of the Vietnam - Cuba diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960 - 2023).

Addressing the event, Senior Colonel Román Osvaldo Jiménez Ortega, Cuban military, naval and air attaché to Vietnam, expressed his belief that on the basis of the fruitful relations between the two countries, the bilateral defense ties would be continuously consolidated.
On behalf of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces’ troops, the Cuban official sent deep thanks to the government and people of Vietnam, especially the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, for their great support.

In his speech, Major General Pham Truong Son, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA), stressed that the relationship between the VPA and the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces always receives due attention from generations of leaders of the two countries and defense ministries, thus beautifying the special traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.
Gen. Son underlined that the defense cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba has become a pillar in the two countries’ relations, contributing to improving defense potential, firmly protecting political system and socialism in each country.

He affirmed that as friends, close comrades and brothers, the Party, State, people and military of Vietnam will keep staying united, and standing side-by-side with Cuban people and armed forces.
