On inspecting the preparation, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, who is also Head of the Vietnamese Defense Ministry’s Steering Committee on Vietnam's Participation in U.N. Peacekeeping Operations, praised agencies and units for their close and effective coordination in preparing for the see-off ceremony.

Relevant agencies and units have built detailed plans to ensure the significance of the ceremony, which marks Vietnam’s first sending of its engineering force to a U.N. peacekeeping mission.

The deputy defense minister evaluated that the preparation for the departure of the Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 4 of Vietnam for UNMISS and the Engineering Company Rotation 1 for UNISFA has been basically completed. He said that relevant agencies and units should closely work together to complete remaining stages to ensure the success of the event.

General Chien asked them to overcome all difficulties and make thorough preparation of human force, vehicles, and equipment to ensure that the two units will be deployed to UNMISS and UNISFA as scheduled.

The deputy defense minister also requested relevant units and agencies to pay attention to carrying out policies for members of the engineering company and the level-2 field hospital and their families, so as to help them feel more secure when carrying out international duties.
