PANO - The Military Hospital 175 under the Defense Ministry on August 9 opened a training course on pre-deployment of a level-two field hospital in preparation for future United Nations peacekeeping operations.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from the Governmental Office, agencies under the Defense Ministry, representatives of diplomat corps and international organizations in Vietnam.

During the three-month course, 70 medical troops and related staffers of the level-two field hospital under Military Hospital 175 will be provided with knowledge of and experience in steps of preparation, deployment and operation of a field hospital under the UN standards. They will be also equipped with basic knowledge of UN peacekeeping operations, information about local situations of the current UN peacekeeping missions, methods of coordination, command, management and practice on training fields as well as operational ability in a multinational environment.
Lecturers are experts on peacekeeping operations and humanitarian assistance from the Vietnamese Defense Ministry’s agencies and organizations from Australia, France, China, and International Red Cross Committee.
After the training course, the participants are expected to improve their coordination to operate the level-two field hospital, so as to be able to perform well in UN peacekeeping missions.
