The gifts consisted of various medical supplies such as 85 body temperature meters, 45 electric sprayers, 40,000 disposable medical masks, 50,000 reusable cloth masks, 240 boxes of hand sanitizer, 3,000 antibacterial hand gel bottles, and 1,250 pieces of protective medical clothing. The gifts had a total cost of nearly VND 2 billion.

RCAF recipients were the Special Region Command, the Royal Gendarmerie of Cambodia, the Department of Logistics of the RCAF’s High Command, the Intervention Brigade No.1, the Gendarmeries of Svay Rieng and Phnom Penh, and the Military Sub-region of Kompong Thom province together with the Khmer-Vietnam Association in Cambodia.

Addressing the event at Moc Bai International Border Gate, Senior Colonel Le Ngoc Hai, Deputy Commander of the Ho Chi Minh municipal Military Command, briefed delegates on his unit’s missions to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic over the past time. He noted that his unit hopes to share difficulties with RCAF’s units and support them in COVID-19 prevention and control.

He also extended his greetings to RCAF’s troops on the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay of the Khmer people.

For their parts, representatives of RCAF’s units expressed their thanks for the support of the Ho Chi Minh municipal Military Command, adding that these gifts will help improve their COVID-19 prevention and control in the time to come, contributing to promoting friendship and solidarity between the two militaries and countries.
