During the talks, Lt. Gen. Khamking Phuilamanivong and Lt. Gen. Le Duc Thai affirmed that the Vietnamese border guards and the Lao police force have obtained remarkable achievements in border protection and management and in the fight against different crimes and law violations on the shared borderline of the two countries.
Meanwhile, the two forces have created favorable conditions to promote trade activities, accelerate economic growth, and build a shared border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.
In the time to come, the two sides agreed to coordinate in exchanging information related to activities of different crimes, especially transnational crimes; conducting professional activities and investigations on crucial routes and in areas with complicated social order issues; inquiring and verifying information about crimes and setting up teams to capture organized criminals.
Meanwhile, both sides will collaborate with each other in arresting escaped criminals and wanted fugitives; handling cases related to social order issues in line with the laws of each country, implementing the agreement on the Vietnam - Laos border and border gate management regulations, and the international treaties on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
Also, the two forces will boost disseminating information and mobilizing people in border areas to observe each country’s laws and border agreements while actively participating in crime prevention, strengthening patrols in border areas, especially in trails, open routes and key areas, to timely detect, prevent, arrest, and handle criminal activities and law violations.

Activities on holidays, New Year festival, National Day, and the founding day of each side's forces, as well as twinning activities will be promoted to further deepen the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
Concluding the talks, the Vietnam Border Guard Command and the General Department of Police of the Ministry of Security of Laos signed the minutes of the talks.
