PANO - Le Huu Trac National Burn Hospital on July 28 held a meeting in Hanoi to honor its three members who fulfilled their duties at the Level-2 Field Hospital (L2FH) Rotation 2 in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).
Addressing the event, Director of the hospital Major General Nguyen Gia Tien spoke highly of the Vietnamese peacekeepers’ for their great efforts, high sense of responsibility and high resolve to overcome difficulties and challenges in the host country to complete their duties. The director expressed his delight at their task performance and stressed that their outstanding efforts and contributions were highly appreciated by the U.N. and won them the medal “For the U.N. peacekeeping cause.”
Despite direct impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the shortage of epidemic prevention supplies, and extended working time, all members of the L2FH Rotation 2 stayed united, surmounted difficulties, and fulfilled all assignments, said General Tien.
He underscored that the field hospital’s staff also took part in plan-making, taking care of patients, including seriously-ill ones, and screening of and treatment for COVID-19 patients.
During their stay at UNMISS, they fully and effectively participated in training courses to improve their professional expertise, strictly observed regulations and technical procedures related to receiving and treating patients, and excellently performed other duties assigned by the hospital.
According to the UNMISS’s assessment of the hospital’s operational capacity, the L2FH Rotation 2 was the best field hospital at the mission.
