The Vietnam Coast Guard and the RoK’s Coast Guards are both active members of both the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP) and the Heads of Asian Coast Guard Agencies Meeting (HACGAM).
Both countries have worked closely together on strengthening law enforcement at sea in recent years.
This visit is expected to strengthen good relations, promote an exchange of experience, and increase mutual understanding between the coast guards of both countries. This will contribute to maintaining peace and stability at sea.
According to the plan, Korean officers and sailors will pay courtesy calls to city leaders and commanders of the Vietnam Coast Guard Region 2. They will also share their experiences of dealing with pirates, preventing pollution, managing the maritime environment, and more.
