The Indian delegation, led by Colonel Suman Saurabh Sharma, Landing Ship Airavat’s Commander, was welcomed by Deputy Chief of Staff of Naval Region 4 Senior Captain Nguyen Thai Hoc and representatives from the Department of Foreign Relations of the Ministry of National Defense, agencies of the Naval Service, the Khanh Hoa provincial Military Command and Border Guard Command, and Indian Defense Attaché Office in Vietnam.

From July 21 to 25, the Airavat’s crew-members and commander pay a courtesy call on Naval Region 4, Naval Academy, Signal Officer Training School, and Air Force Officer Training School. The ship’s crew-members will have sports exchanges with troops of Naval Region 4 and visit some local historical and cultural relic sites.

The visit of the Indian Navy’s ship aims to strengthen cooperative relations, mutual understanding and trust between the Vietnamese and Indian militaries and navies.
