English training course opened for air force troops
PANO – An Australian language training course in 2018 was kicked off on March 26 for nearly 40 officials, instructors and cadets of the Air Force Officer Training School of the Vietnam People’s Army in the presence of Australian Defense Attaché to Vietnam, Colonel Nerolie McDonald.
Foreign language is an important factor to improve the quality of training and research for officials, instructors and cadets of the school in the new period, helping them acquire new knowledge and scientific advances.

Over the past years, the Australian Department of Defense has provided a lot of language training courses for officials of the Vietnam People’s Army. However, this is the first time an English training course was held at the Air Force Officer Training School, to improve English skills for its officials, instructors and cadets.
Prior to the course, the trainees were tested by the Australian side on the four macro-skills of the Australian language. Based on the results of the test, the curriculum and plan of the course were designed to suit the learners’ knowledge.
Sponsored by the Australian Department of Defense, the nine months course will end in December and learners will then sit the final exam for the designated certificate.
