Deputy-Minister of MND hosts banquet for Cuban guest
PANO - A banquet to celebrate the 61st anniversary of the establishment of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Landing Day of the motor-yacht, “Granma” carrying Fidel Castro, Raoul Castro, Che Guevara and other revolutionaries in Cuba on December 2, signaling the start of the Cuban revolution, was held in Hanoi.

Speaking at the event, Senior Colonel Juan Miguel Garcia Montano, Cuban military attaché to Vietnam, said that the main task of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces was to protect national sovereignty, people's national achievements and train for combat. He also stressed that the relationship between the Vietnamese People's Army and the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces is growing strongly. He also stressed that both Vietnamese and Cuban armed forces serve as a solid pillar to protect the territory and sovereignty of each country and safeguard peacful life for each nation.
On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy-Chief-of-the-General Staff, expressed his pleasure at the good achievements of the relations between the two countries over the past years. He also noted that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Cuba, the two nations will overcome all difficulties and challenges in the coming time.
