Deputy Defense Minister welcomes new U.S. Military Attaché
PANO - Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Minister of National Defense, received the new U.S. Military Attaché to Vietnam, Colonel Thomas Stevenson, at the Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense on September 12.

General Vinh congratulated the guest on his appointment as the US Military Attaché to Vietnam. He stressed that over the past time, the defense relations between Vietnam and U.S. has made great achievements, especially in exchanging delegations at all levels, overcoming war consequences, opening training courses, sharing experiences in UN peacekeeping missions, as well as cooperating in search and rescue activities and military medicine.
Vinh hoped that during his term, Colonel Stevenson will make important and practical contributions to promote defense cooperation between the two countries in a more effective and practical manner.
Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense will also create favorable conditions for the U.S. attaché to fulfill his duties, he added.
For his part, the U.S. diplomat affirmed that he will make his utmost efforts to expand Vietnam-U.S. defense cooperation in the coming time.
