Deputy Defense Minister receives US Ambassador
PANO – Deputy Defense Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh held a reception at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense for US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius on September 26.

At the reception, the host and guest exchanged notes about a number of bilateral relations contents, including defense cooperation with enhanced focus on war consequence relief. The two sides also discussed issues of common concerns in the region and the world.
General Vinh hoped that Vietnam and the US would further increase cooperation in unexploded ordnance consequence relief and Agent Orange/dioxin decontamination in the coming time.
Ambassador Osius affirmed that cooperation between the two countries in these areas would be strengthened in the coming time and he highly appreciated the cooperation between Vietnam and the US in joining UN peacekeeping operations, especially in training areas.
The guest also agreed that the two sides should promote cooperation in the defense industry and he further hoped to achieve a three-party cooperation agreement in this area soon.
