The DPRK defense chief confirmed his country’s consistent policy of developing cooperative ties between the two militaries.
Speaking highly of the great achievements of the DPRK in national building and development, Gen. Chien emphasized that they are testaments to the sound leadership of the DPRK Workers’ Party, headed by its General Secretary, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, and Supreme Commander of the DPRK People’s Armed Forces Kim Jong Un.

He informed the host about the outcomes of the earlier talks between the Vietnamese and DPRK delegations, during which the two sides had reviewed the bilateral defense relations over the past time and agreed on orientations to consolidate and accelerate the ties in the coming time.
The Vietnamese general hoped that the host would pay due attention to directing his Ministry’s functional agencies to coordinate with their Vietnamese counterparts to actively carry out the reached cooperation contents so as to further develop the bilateral defense cooperation.

Highly valuing the talks’ results, General Kang Sun Nam stressed that talks and delegation exchanges would help strengthen understanding and foster the friendship between the two countries and militaries as well.

Gen. Chien conveyed the greeting, invitation, and the wish of Vietnamese Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang to welcome General Kang Sun Nam in Vietnam to attend the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 slated for this December.
He took the occasion to present the photo of President Ho Chi Minh and DPRK Chairman Kim Il Sung to DPRK leader Kim Jong Un, through General Kang Sun Nam. It is a nice photo of the Vietnam - DPRK relationship.
