At the event, the host and guest discussed the preparatory work to welcome the delegation of the Chinese Central Military Commission (CMC)’s leadership in Vietnam and the high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) of Vietnam in China in the coming time.

Gen. Chien confirmed that the Vietnamese MND and relevant agencies and units would work closely with the Chinese side to make thorough preparations for the visit to Vietnam by the Chinese CMC delegation.

Regarding the bilateral defense relations, Gen. Chien suggested the two sides continue to enhance cooperation on the basis of signed documents and agreements with a focus on such fields as all-level delegation exchanges, border management and defense, and defense policy dialogue.

Sr. Col. Jiangbo thanked Gen. Chien for receiving him and discussing the framework program and working contents of the two aforementioned important visits.

The Chinese official stressed that he would exert efforts to closely coordinate with the Vietnamese MND to ensure the success of the two visits.
