At the reception, Gen. Chien assessed that over the past time, implementing the strategic guidance by the two countries’ senior leaders and on the basis of the Vietnam-China joint statement on continuing deepening and elevating the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries, and building a Vietnam-China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance with the “Six More's” orientation, including more practical defense and security cooperation, the bilateral defense ties have been promoted and produced good outcomes. Highlights of the outcomes included exchanges of delegations at all levels, cooperation in border management and protection, successful organization of the eighth Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, and cooperation between arms and services.

The Vietnamese general suggested the two sides continue coordinating and actively boosting bilateral defense cooperation with focus on all-level delegation exchanges, especially high-level ones, border management and protection, coordination between arms and services, young officers exchange, and Party and political work.

Sr. Col. Jiangbo emphasized that defense cooperation is one of the important pillars in the two countries’ relations. He spoke highly of the important results of the bilateral defense ties over the past time, stressing that they greatly contributed to promoting the two countries’ comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Given that there remains ample room for the two countries to cooperate, Col. Jiangbo said that he would continue to exert efforts to further develop the two countries’ relations in general and the bilateral defense cooperation in particular.
