PANO - On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the “Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the Air” victory, on December 20, a delegation of defense attachés from other countries in Vietnam, led by South African Defense Attaché to Vietnam Colonel Eugene Vincent Jeoffrey Dudley, visited the Air Defense - Air Force (ADAF) Service.
On behalf of the service’s chain-of-command, Senior Colonel Pham Chi Thanh, Deputy Chief of the ADAF’s Department of Political Affairs, received the delegation and took them to visit the ADAF Museum, and Battalion 77 (Missile Regiment 257, Division 361 of the service).
At the museum, the delegation was introduced to images, exhibits and documentaries featuring the construction, development and victory of the ADAF Service. They were also briefed upon the history of Missile Regiment 257, which is tasked with ensuring combat readiness and protecting national sovereignty in the air while working with provincial authorities to maintain political security and social order.
The defense attachés expressed their delight at the visit, affirming that the visit contributed to enhancing solidarity and mutual understanding between the Vietnam People’s Army and other militaries. They also hoped to have more opportunities to visit and exchange with units of the Vietnam People’s Army in the time to come.
