Vietnamese, Lao young officers exchange
PANO - A delegation of young officers from the Lao People’s Army (PLA), led by Colonel Hong Thong Sixanon, head of the PLA Youth Division, visited and had an exchange at the Coat Guard Region 2 Command of Vietnam.
The Lao delegation was accompanied by representatives from the Military Youth Advisory Board under the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People’s Army and was received by the unit’s Commander Major General Tran Quang Tuan.

At the event, the guests watched a report and heard an introduction on the functions, missions, traditions, outstanding achievements of the Vietnam Coast Guard force and the Coast Guard Region 2 Command.
They also toured the unit to learn about its infrastructure, activities, and provided ships.

An overview of the exchange |
Addressing the exchange between the two sides’ young officers, Senior Colonel Le Huy, Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, affirmed that Vietnam and Laos are neighbors that have stood side-by-side despite ups and downs of history. He highlighted the exchange’s deep meaning, saying that it helped tighten the solidarity between the two nations and between young officers of the LPA and the host.

For his part, Colonel Hong Thong Sixanon thanked the host for the solemn reception. He conveyed his hope that through this visit, Lao young officers would have deeper understanding of the Vietnam Coast Guard force and the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos. These would help strengthen the two countries’ young officers’ solidarity, mutual understanding, thereby preserving and developing the comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability between the two neighbors.
