Chinese military medical team demonstrates medical techniques

During the event in Cao Loc district, Lang Son province, the Chinese medical team surprised the attendees by demonstrating the traditional Chinese medical technique of “fire needling”. This method involves using special needles heated by fire, which are quickly applied to specific acupuncture points on the body. It is believed to enhance the body’s yang energy, regulate the function of internal organs, and clear the meridians. Fire needling also helps to clear heat, eliminate dampness, reduce swelling, promote tissue regeneration, and heal ulcers.

By noon on April 13, the program had successfully concluded. A total of 1,142 people received medical check-ups, and more than 1,000 doses of medicine were distributed.

Earlier on April 12, Senior Colonel Luu Tuong Thanh Hung, Deputy Director of the Military Institute of Traditional Medicine and Head of the Vietnamese medical team, along with Lieutenant Colonel Zhao Xiongliang, Head of the Chinese medical team, visited and presented gifts to three policy families in Dong Dang town. The doctors conducted thorough check-ups and encouraged the families, especially 101-year-old Nguyen Thi At, who was still in good health despite heart and musculoskeletal issues.

The program was part of the 9th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, showing the Party, State, and military’s care for the border people’s health. The program also serves as an opportunity for the two countries’ military medical teams to exchange knowledge and enhance international cooperation in medical services, which left good impression on border people’s heart.
