PANO – A high-ranking Chinese defense mission, led by Chinese Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Chang Wanquan, paid a visit to Regiment 141, Division 3, Military Zone 1 in the morning of March 28th as part of his on-going visit to Vietnam.

Present at the welcoming ceremony for the Chinese delegates were Commander of Military Zone 1 Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang and soldiers of Regiment 141, among others.

At the working session, the regiment’s Commander Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Giang briefed the guests on its tradition and training achievements over the past time.

Senior Lieutenant General Chang Wanquan expressed his honour to visit Regiment 141 and also praised its results in rolling out assigned tasks.

Additionally, the Chinese Defense Minister hoped that the two countries’ army units would further boost their cooperation, particularly in conducting delegation exchanges and sharing task performance experience in order to contribute to the bilateral defense external affairs.

In turn, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Giang thanked Senior Lieutenant General Chang Wanquan and other Chinese delegates for visiting and giving warm sentiments toward the regiment in particular and Military Zone 1 in general.

The same day, at the “Huu nghi” (Friendship) border gate in Lang Son province, Vietnamese Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh welcomed Senior Lieutenant General Qi Jianguo, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Joint Staff Department under the Chinese Central Military Commission, who is leading another delegation to partake in the third Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange.
