Chinese Defense Minister expected to visit Vietnam in May
PANO – Deputy Defense Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh on April 22 received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Vietnam Xiong Bo, who paid a courtesy visit to the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense.
At the meeting, General Vinh and Ambassador Bo agreed that defense relations between Vietnam and China have achieved various positive practical outcomes, particularly in the fields of exchange of delegations at all levels, border cooperation and sharing of experience in UN peacekeeping operations.

Especially, the Vietnam-China Defense Policy Dialogue at a deputy defense ministerial level and the Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange are held annually and become more and more effective, bringing practical benefits to both sides.
General revealed that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and relevant agencies are actively preparing for an official visit to Vietnam of Chinese Defense Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Wei Fenghe. The visit, which has been scheduled for May, is expected to generate good results, contributing to strengthening the bilateral defense cooperation as an important pillar in the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic partnership.
