Cambodian military officials praise Vietnam’s assistance
PANO - The Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), on July 14, held a ceremony to unveil a Vietnamese-funded multifunctional training building at the Royal Gendarmerie of the Cambodia (RGC) Training Center in Kampong Chahnang province, on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the RGC’s founding day.

At the ceremony, Cambodian Defense Minister Tea Banh and RGC Commander Sao Sokha expressed their deep gratitude to the Vietnamese Defense Ministry; and highly valued the valuable assistance of the Vietnamese ministry for the RGC and other forces of Cambodia. Such assistance helped modernize the Cambodian army and improve the quality of its troops, and contributed to maintaining security,
stability and development in the country.
The building of the facility symbolizes the solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the two countries, they stressed.
Also at the ceremony, the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces started construction of the Command Building of the RGC Training Centre, which is also funded by the Vietnamese ministry.
For his part, Senior Colonel Nguyen Anh Dung, Vietnamese Defense Attaché in Cambodia, stressed that the facility built by the Vietnamese Defense Ministry for the RGC showed the solidarity, cooperation and mutual support between Vietnam and Cambodia. This is part of activities to mark the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year and the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam – Cambodia diplomatic ties.
