PANO - A delegation of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, led by Colonel Rem Kann, Cambodian Military Attaché to Vietnam, paid a working visit to the Signal Officer Candidate School on March 23.
The delegation was joined by Cambodian Deputy Military Attaché to Vietnam Colonel Theam Virak, and representatives of the Department of Foreign Relations under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, the Department of Military School Management under the General Staff, and the Department of Military Security under the General Department of Political Affairs.
Over the past years, under the cooperation program between the two defense ministries, the Signal Officer Candidate School has provided training courses for 121 Cambodian cadets and 242 graduated Cambodian officers. The Cambodian Government presented Royal Order of Sahametrei - Sena (Officer) and numerous awards to the Signal Officer Candidate School to recognize the contribution of the school to the development of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.
At the working session, the Cambodian delegates discussed with the school’s leadership on the results of training and management of Cambodian military cadets over the past time and the training plan for the time to come. In addition, they toured barracks and inquired after Cambodian cadets at Battalion 18 of the Signal Officer Candidate School.
Speaking at the event, Colonel Rem Kann thanked the school’s leadership for their sincere sentiments to the delegation, and their care for Cambodian military cadets. He hoped that the bilateral defense ties in general and the cooperation in education and training in particular will continue to develop fruitfully and effectively, contributing to increasingly strengthening the traditional friendship between the two countries in the time to come.
