Bilateral defense ties are the pillar of the Vietnam-Cuba relationship
PANO – Defense Minister, General Ngo Xuan Lich held a reception for the Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam, Herminio Lopez Diaz, who bid farewell to General Lich at the end of his term of office in Vietnam, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense on August 24.

At the reception, General Lich expressed joy over the fine development in the bilateral relations between the two countries over the past time. He held that the noble friendship between Vietnam and Cuba is the precious and treasurable legacy that the two parties and peoples had been fostering and handed down to the current generations.
General Lich highly valued the guest’s contributions to boosting the special traditional relations, including defense ties, between Vietnam and Cuba and hoped that Ambassador Herminio Lopez Diaz, in other positions later, would further contribute to tightening the Vietnam-Cuba friendship and solidarity.
For his part, Ambassador Diaz shared with General Lich his mission accomplishment during his term and his sentiments towards the land and people of Vietnam. The Cuban diplomat held that the bilateral defense ties played the role as a pillar in the Vietnam-Cuba relations and believed that the ties would continue to be a highlight in the bilateral relations. He confirmed that he would contribute to the development of the Vietnam-Cuba relations in any post he may hold in the coming time.
