Vietnam, Cuba to continue boosting defense ties
PANO – Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Minister of National Defense, hosted a reception on July 26 for Colonel Ramon Balaguer Sánchez and Lieutenant Colonel Juan Miguel Montano, outgoing and newly-appointed Cuban military attachés to Vietnam.
At the reception, General Vinh held that the Vietnam – Cuba defense ties have been increasingly reinforced and developed over the past time, serving as a pillar and a model fostering other areas of cooperation between the two countries.
The host, on behalf of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam, highly appreciated Senior Colonel Ramon Balaguer Sánchez for his contribution to reinforcing and fostering the friendship and cooperation between the two Parties, States, peoples and armies during his term of office. The Vietnamese deputy defense minister also congratulated Lieutenant Colonel Juan Miguel Montano as a new Cuban military attaché to Vietnam, hoping that he would continue promoting his predecessor’s work, contributing to deepening the bilateral defense relations in the time to come.
