The event was hosted by Sr. Capt. Do Minh, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 4, and attended by Sr. Capt. Sun Jianhui, Chief of Staff of Guangzhou Naval Base of the PLAN, along with representatives of the Guangzhou authorities and officers and sailors from the two navies.

In his remarks, the head of the Vietnamese delegation thanked the Chinese Navy and the authorities and people of Guangzhou for their warm hospitality during its stay for visit and exchange activities. He emphasized that the relations between the two navies have continued to strengthen and develop.
To date, the Vietnam People's Navy has dispatched ships to China ten times, including two visits to Guangzhou, while the Chinese Navy has made 16 port calls to Vietnam. In 2025 and 2026, the two sides successfully conducted three joint patrols in the Gulf of Tonkin. The joint patrol mechanism has contributed to maintaining security and order in the Gulf, enhancing mutual trust and understanding, and promoting friendly cooperation between the two navies.
During the event, Vietnamese and Chinese officers and sailors enjoyed traditional Vietnamese dishes, including spring rolls, Vietnamese pork sausage, and pho. Cultural performances by artists from the Vietnam People's Navy’s Arts Troupe also helped foster friendship between the two naval forces.

Earlier, the Vietnamese delegation visited the headquarters of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth League in Guangzhou, a historic site associated with President Ho Chi Minh's revolutionary activities from 1924 to 1927.
Located at No.13 (now Nos. 248 and 250) Wenming Road, the building served as the headquarters of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth League, the predecessor of the Communist Party of Vietnam, founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc. It was also the birthplace of the Thanh Nien newspaper, the league's official publication. During his time there, Nguyen Ai Quoc organized three political training courses for 75 Vietnamese revolutionary cadres and personally served as the principal instructor. His lectures were later compiled into Duong Kach Menh (The Revolutionary Path), which became the league's guiding handbook and one of the Communist Party of Vietnam's earliest theoretical works.
