At the trophy handover ceremony for the Russian tank team of Group 1 of the “Tank Biathlon” event

At the ceremony, the organizing panel presented a trophy to the Russian tank contingent which held the first place in Group 1 in the final round of the “Tank Biathlon” event held earlier the same day. The Russian tank team was followed by the Belarusian and Chinese teams, respectively. In this year’s event, the VPA’s tank contingent was in Group 1 and entered the semi-finals.

Also at the event, art troupes from the Russian Ministry of Defense entertained participants with typical art performances.

The Army Games 2022, held from August 13-27, drew the participation of 246 teams from 34 countries, competing in 34 events.

In this year’s games, 12 countries, namely Russia, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Iran, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, and Vietnam, hosted different events. This was also the first time an event of the games took place in a South American country, Venezuela and two countries, Bolivia and Rwanda, sent their troops to the games.

According to the organizers, the Russian delegation ranked the first, followed by Uzbekistan. Belarus and Kazakhstan were placed the third while the fourth place belonged to China and Iran. The Vietnamese delegation ranked the fifth with one gold, two silver, and five bronze medals.

Several art performances during the closing ceremony

Alongside hosting the “Emergency Area” event of the games, the VPA sent teams to other events, including “Tank Biathlon” (Russia), “Army of Culture” (Russia), “Military Medical Relay Race” (Russia), “Special Sprint” (Russia), “Safe Environment” (Uzbekistan), “Field Kitchen” (Uzbekistan), “Confident Reception” (Belarus), “Tactical Shooter” (Kazakhstan), and “Meridian” (Kazakhstan).

In particular, the “Emergency Area” of the VPA bagged home a gold medal. The silver medals belonged to the “Army of Culture” and “Confident Reception” teams.

The female crew of the “Confident Reception” team, the “Military Medical Relay Race,” “Safe Environment,” and “Field Kitchen” teams won bronze medals for the VPA. The “Tactical Shooter” and “Meridian” teams ranked the fourth. The tank team entered the semi-final round. Notably, the “Special Sprint” team with 12 members who are cadets at a military academy in Russia was a bronze medalist.

During the Army Games 2022, the high-ranking VPA delegation attended the International Military-Technical Forum 2022 (Army-2022) and the 10th Moscow Conference on International Security.
