PANO - The 18-member foreign defence and military attaché corps to Vietnam concluded their visit to the Quang Tri provincial Military Command, Engineering Brigade 270 of Military Zone 5, Da Nang City - and to the Military Zone 5 Command - from April 5th to 9th.

The visit was conducted by the Foreign Relations Department under the Ministry of National Defence. The visit was part of a plan to boost military international relations and was approved by the leader of the Ministry of National Defence. The visit aimed to strengthen mutual understanding, trust, and relationship, and to boost defence cooperation between the Vietnam People’s Army and foreign armies for peace, stability, cooperation and development.

During the visit, the foreign defence and military attachés were briefed on socio-economic achievements and those in other different fields, and challenges confronting Quang Tri province and Da Nang city. The attachés also studied past missions and remarkable results in carrying out assigned tasks of Engineering Brigade 270 and Military Zone 5.

The hosts and the guests also exchanged issues of common concern to build cooperation for peace in the region and the world as a whole. 

On behalf of the delegation, head delegate South African Defense Attaché Colonel Mpiwa Kgotso Abiel thanked the Vietnam People’s Army for holding a significant visit for foreign defence and military attachés. He also thanked localities and military units for their warm reception. He affirmed that the beautiful images of Vietnam and its people left good impressions on the delegation.
