As Vietnam and the European Union (E.U.) prepare to celebrate the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025, the FM hoped that the two sides would continue to closely coordinate with each other, exploit their strengths to elevate bilateral ties to a new height. He took an occasion to suggest that both sides should enhance high-level exchanges and contacts while effectively implementing cooperation mechanisms between their ministries and sectors.

Son also expressed his belief that the Vietnam-E.U. Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), once it comes into effect, will open up opportunities for bilateral trade and investment cooperation for both sides’ business communities, especially in the fields of environment, green transition, digital transformation, and circular economy. Meanwhile, he proposed that the E.C. soon remove the “yellow card” for Vietnam’s seafood exports under the illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing framework, thereby contributing to Vietnam’s sustainable fisheries development.
