During the visit, National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Doan Anh held talks with First Vice President of the Norwegian Parliament Morten Stordalen. He also met with Chairman of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) Parliamentary Committee Nikolai Astrup, and Head of the Norwegian Parliament’s Delegation to the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership (ASEP) and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Tellef Inge Mørland.

The Vietnamese delegation also visited and worked with several enterprises, attended a ceremony celebrating Viet Nam’s 81st National Day and the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and met with officials of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Norway.
At the meetings, the two sides assessed that Viet Nam - Norway relations were entering a new stage of development with favorable conditions. After 55 years of diplomatic relations, bilateral ties have continued to be consolidated, with cooperation expanding across Party, State, Government, parliamentary, and people-to-people channels.
A notable milestone was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on a Green Strategic Partnership in April 2026, which created a new framework and momentum for cooperation in key areas such as the maritime economy, renewable energy, circular economy, climate change response, and sustainable development.
During discussions with Norwegian parliamentary leaders, the two sides agreed to further promote the role of legislative bodies in advancing and supervising the implementation of cooperation agreements, contributing to creating a favorable legal and political foundation for stable and long-term bilateral relations.
They also agreed to enhance the exchange of legislative and supervisory experiences, while strengthening coordination at regional and international parliamentary forums.
