Petrolimex Global Bank (PGBank) and Vietnam National Petroleum Corp (Petrolimex) have issued a Flexicard to pay for petrol and other goods.
Customers can use it for either prepaid or debit transactions. The prepaid card allows clients to make non-cash payment for goods and services in restaurants, supermarkets and at more than 1,700 Petrolimex stations nationwide. PG Bank director general Nguyen Quang Dinh said that about 4,205 points of sale were being set up across the country.
The prepaid function does not require customers to have a bank account as debit does. They only need to register personnal information at petrol stations to receive a card.
Debit Flexicard lets holders withdraw cash from ATM machines owned by the PG Bank and within the banknet system, provide salary receipts through bank accounts, goods and services payments, and account transfers.
Bui Ngoc Bao, general director of Petrolimex, said to encourage customers to use Flexicard, Petrolimex would spend 2.7 billion VND (152,000 USD) on promotions.
