Viettel attributed its 2025 success to breakthroughs in business, research, and manufacturing, aligning with national digital transformation priorities under Politburo Resolution 57.

The group mastered core technologies by mass-producing key defense equipment and successfully testing a new long-range strategic weapon ahead of schedule. As a leader in dual-use industrial technology, Viettel published 406 international scientific papers and secured 175 domestic and 41 international patents, earning two Ho Chi Minh Prizes for Science and Technology.

In infrastructure, Viettel deployed 30,000 5G base stations, establishing Vietnam’s largest network and exceeding government commitments. It also broke ground on three hyperscale data centers and R&D complexes in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. Simultaneously, Viettel expanded its logistics footprint by building a center in Da Nang, deploying smart border gates in northern provinces, and entering Southeast Asian markets.

As a digital transformation pillar, Viettel deployed secure, large-scale platforms for central agencies, including Party bodies and the National Assembly, ensuring synchronized national operations.

The group also implemented a dedicated data transmission network and an integrated operations management system linking central and local levels, supporting the stable operation of the two-tier local government model following administrative mergers. Viettel’s virtual assistant tool enables citizens to access information, resolve inquiries, and receive guidance quickly and accurately around the clock.

At the conference to review the group’s production and business performance in 2025, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang stated that 2026 is seen as a year marking the transition from planning and orientation to concrete implementation. With a clear strategy to become a global technology group by 2030, Viettel has chosen to focus on being more pro-active, faster, bolder, and more effective, so that results are evident to customers, society, and the nation, and serve as the foundation for sustainable development.
