VHT-produced core product ecosystem
The system was the last step to complete a core product ecosystem that VHT designed and produced. This was also the last piece among an entire product ecosystem researched and manufactured by Viettel that has been integrated into Vietnam's telecommunications network.

The IMS production marked the successful realization of Viettel's Made-in-Vietnam strategy in core telecommunications to ensure information security.
Viettel has been, for decades, taking steps to replace imported components with its products. The telecoms corporation, one of the largest in Vietnam, has succeeded in integrating 100% "Made by Viettel" components in its networks, which serves 80 million customers in Vietnam with systems such as the online charging system (OCS), the policy and charging rules function (PCRF), the short message service center (SMSC) and the color ring back tone (CRBT).
In order to guarantee network security and optimal network utilization by vendors, Viettel has implemented multi-vendor protocols with more than 50% of components in Viettel network coming from VHT including technologies such as the mobile switching center (MSC), evolved packet core (EPC), site router and eNodeB.
The IMS is a vital component in Viettel's core network, which provides a significantly superior service over the existing 3G, capable of establishing calls 300% faster in HD quality while reducing battery drain from 30% to 50%.
This system, researched and developed by VHT since 2018, is designed strictly following the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) standards set by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) on the most advanced virtual platforms, geared for seamless network integration.

Telecommunications network “Made by Viettel” serves 80 million Vietnamese subscribers and those in 11 other international markets. |
IMS allows Viettel to save up to 50% in costs compared to imported ones. In addition, it grants Viettel additional operational independence without overly relying on a third party. In addition, the system will grant Viettel greater flexibility in upgrading and adjusting service packages to the individual needs of customers.
Viettel is ready to commercialize 5G technology
According to VHT General Director Nguyen Vu Ha, "Viettel has a key advantage over the competition as we act as both a service provider and a telecommunications equipment developer. Using “Made-in-Vietnam” products allow Viettel to help the country preserve its foreign exchange reserve and to optimize Viettel's operational and investment costs. In addition, it sets the foundation for the future development of Viettel products to match international competitors and the commercialization of 5G technology."
Viettel Network’s Deputy General Director Nguyen Van Quyet said that integrating "Made by Viettel" components in the network has resulted in a world level of technologies and services and a high degree of network stability and cutting cost twice and even three times in comparison to imported components.
Mr. Quyet highlighted the components’ adaptability, emphasizing that “only "Made by Viettel" components can help us adapt to an increasingly complex and dangerous cyber environment.”
The Viettel Network leader said that Viettel intends to continue the implementation of "Made-by-Viettel" products in all of its markets and to improve quality with an eye on export potential. “This is how we realize Vietnamese aspiration and pride, by producing high-tech products that meet and exceed customers' expectations,” Mr. Quyet said.
This year, Viettel plans to expand its telecommunications services to international markets around the globe including Cambodia, Laos, Mozambique and Peru.
