Lt. Gen. Tao Duc Thang speaks at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Thang emphasized that VDT is designed to offer challenging opportunities for students to test their abilities and grow. Viettel, he said, is committed to inviting top global experts to deliver high-quality training; assigning dedicated, highly-skilled mentors to accompany participants; and organizing impactful activities to ensure that every moment spent in the program is valuable. He affirmed that Viettel stands ready to be a solid foundation, helping young talents reach new heights.

Launched in 2021, VDT is an annual program led by Viettel’s top experts and includes two stages of intensive training over six months. In the first phase, students receive specialized instruction and career guidance. In the second, they intern full-time at Viettel’s corporations, working directly on major real-world projects.

After five years, the program has attracted more than 12,000 applications, including over 800 candidates with national or international awards and over 250 overseas students from top 100 global universities. Nearly 1,200 interns have been trained through VDT, more than 400 of whom have become full-time Viettel employees while still at school. Notably, 40% of the initiatives developed within the program have been applied in practice at the group.

These achievements reaffirm VDT’s role as more than a place for internship, it is a national launchpad for digital talents, where young engineers gain early exposure to cutting-edge technologies, contribute to strategic projects, and learn from leading industry mentors.
