At the event

The event was attended by Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Head of the standing board of the Steering Committee for the Review of Implementing Resolution No.791-NQ/QUTW.

Reportedly, Viettel has researched and manufactured 50 products of ten high-tech defense industry areas to serve the defense-security missions over the past years.

In the electronic and telecommunications engineering, Viettel has mastered infrastructure equipment for the four communications networks, including access network, transmission network, core network, and application network. The group has completed and tested the 5G network infrastructure equipment, contributing to listing Vietnam among the top five countries mastering the 5G technology worldwide. Viettel has become a pioneer in mastering digital platforms to back the Government in implementing the national strategy for digital transformation in three pillars, namely digital government, digital economy, and digital society.

Addressing the conference, Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan held that the 10-year implementation of Resolution No. 791-NQ/QUTW has contributed to Viettel's strong growth to become one of the country's leading economic groups. It has helped the group well combine military and defense tasks with socio-economic development.

In the coming time, the Viettel's Party Committee and Board of Directors should continue to thoroughly grasp and implement the above directives and resolutions on science, technology and environment work in the military, focus on researching and mastering science and technology in such fields as high-tech defense industry, electronics-telecommunications industry, cyber security and digital technology industry, contributing to making Viettel the key unit of a high-tech defense industrial complex and a pioneer in building a digital economy and creating a digital society in Vietnam.
