Viettel officially puts the NVIDIA DGX B200 supercomputer system, the first to be owned by Vietnam, into operation.

Viettel AI, the unit operating Vietnam's supercomputing systems, is deploying the NVIDIA B200 platform. Delivering 1.5 exaFLOPs of FP8 performance, this advanced system is a critical infrastructure for AI development that remains difficult to access globally due to export controls and supply constraints.

Aligned with Resolution No.57/TW-NQ on mastering strategic technologies, Viettel’s investment ensures Vietnam possesses high-performance computing power for large-scale AI projects. This domestic infrastructure enables the development of safe, reliable AI systems compliant with local laws.

Nguyen Manh Quy, Director of Viettel AI, stated, “Putting the B200 system into operation is not merely an investment in computing infrastructure, but a strategic step for Viettel to build sovereign and trustworthy AI capabilities for Vietnam. On this platform, Viettel can develop AI technologies that serve the Vietnamese people and Vietnamese businesses, while accompanying the Government in promoting digital transformation in a safe, effective, and sustainable way.”

The first B200 supercomputer system owned by Vietnam will serve as Viettel’s core AI infrastructure and long-term strategic computing platform.

Currently, Viettel AI has begun training and optimizing Vietnamese large language models (LLMs) to support national digital transformation programs, while simultaneously developing multimodal models integrating text, images, audio, and video, as well as domain-specific generative AI models for different sectors.

Deployed at the Viettel Hoa Lac Technical Center, the B200 supercomputing system will become Viettel’s core AI infrastructure and long-term strategic computing platform. On this basis, Viettel is ready to share its computing capacity with partners, research institutes, and Vietnamese enterprises, contributing to the development of a self-reliant, secure, and sustainable domestic AI ecosystem.
