Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense, joined Vietnamese and Singaporean officials to inaugurate Viettel’s representative office in Singapore.
Gen. Chien stated the move signals Viettel’s commitment to joining global value chains and partnering with tech leaders. He emphasized that Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense supports Viettel’s international cooperation based on mutual benefit and international law, urging Singaporean authorities to facilitate the office’s role as a bridge for bilateral innovation.
Viettel Deputy General Director Senior Colonel Cao Anh Son pledged long-term, transparent cooperation while respecting local laws. He described the Singapore office as a “strategic hub” focused on five missions: developing digital infrastructure, deploying national-scale transformation, promoting R&D in high-tech industries, cultivating talent, and strengthening technology diplomacy.
At the event, Viettel signed agreements with partners including ST Engineering, Honeywell International Inc., Airbus, and China Unicom. These partnerships target public security, cybersecurity, aerospace, AI-driven automation, and cloud computing, aiming to integrate Viettel deeper into the global technology ecosystem.
