The rankings are the result of the independent research and assessment by Vietnam Report Joint-stock Company (Vietnam Report) according to Fortune 500’s international standard and have been made annually since 2018.

A Viettel representative receives the award from the organizing panel.

The rankings are based on criteria for the enterprise's financial capacity such as the business results report, the equity; the reputation in the media through coding articles about technology companies published in influential newspapers in Vietnam; the survey of research subjects and stakeholders from January to June 2023.

In the first half of this year, Viettel was the enterprise that contributed the most to the growth of the information and communications industry with revenue reaching VND 81 trillion, profit achieving VND 24.1 trillion, and VND 21.6 trillion in contribution to the budget.

In addition, the group upheld the No.1 position in terms of mobile subscriber market share (53.8%). It was also active in carrying out the road-map to turn off 2G signal in Vietnam, increasing the ratio of 4G subscribers in the total number of subscribers to 78%, and testing 5G services in 55 provinces and cities nationwide.

Notably, the corporation’s foreign telecommunications services also achieved a growth rate of over 20%, of which five markets, namely Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Timor Leste, and Burundi, continued holding their No.1 positions.

Moreover, in this year, Vietnam gives the message “Technology with heart” to the public in a hope of using technology to solve problems, weather challenges and problems in society and bring a better life to people.

The group has so far accompanied, given advice to and implemented 19 digital transformation projects for more than 20 ministry-run units, and nearly 40 Intelligent Operation Center (IOC) projects in many provinces across the country.

Viettel has also strengthened partnership with major technology firms in the world to promote digital services in Vietnam.
