Pegatron Factory is the first smart factory in Vietnam operated automatically thanks to 5G mobile services whose advantages include high speed, low latency, and multiple connections.

Addressing the event, Viettel Deputy General Director Dao Xuan Vu stressed the group’s pursuit of the philosophy of “technology is to solve social problems and improve the quality of life.” He informed that Viettel is a pioneer in deploying 5G technology in Vietnam and Viettel’s 5G coverage in the country has reached 58 out of 63 provinces and cities. He also emphasized that Viettel plays a key role in building secure, strong and reliable connection infrastructure, which is the foundation for a dynamic, competitive digital service ecosystem and creation of a digital society.
In the first phase of its partnership with Pegatron Factory, Viettel provided 5G PMN for five applications. It is expected to provide such network for thousands of devices at the factory which is specialized in manufacturing electronic equipment and components by the end of this year.
Highly praising the military group’s efforts in applying technology to modernizing the city, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong said that the success of applying the network in the first smart factory in Hai Phong city is a testament to Viettel's constant efforts to fulfill its commitment to accompanying the city in digital transformation, building a smart city, and boosting the city’s modernization process. This success will help develop other fields using 5G technology, opening up a good future for Hai Phong's economy.
Affirming that the application of 5G PMN to the production line is a new trend in the world, Pegatron General Manager CY Feng shared that Pegatron has pioneered to bring this technology into the production line in Vietnam in the hope of improving the efficiency of the factory in a modern and professional direction. "Viettel is a strategic partner of Pegatron. We believe in the technology that Viettel can provide for the smart factory," said Mr. CY Feng.
5G PMN provides mobile connection services for organizations and individuals in need of using specialized devices or machines that need real-time connectivity. This is the new trend in the world with high growth rates. With the development of Industry 4.0, 5G PMN plays an important role in promoting development in many fields such as production, energy, oil and gas, transportation, mining, smart city, and more.
5G PMN is especially effective for businesses owning factories, warehouses, ports, airports, which require safe and reliable connectivity that the current wifi network cannot meet.
In Vietnam, 5G PMN is expected to strengthen economic development in general and manufacturing, mining and logistics fields in particular. The successful trial of the network exclusively for Pegatron Factory affirmed that Vietnam is accompanying the world in the most advanced technology trend.
