Viettel Global effectively runs in foreign markets
PANO – The Viettel International Investment Joint Stock Company (Viettel Global) earned a turnover of VND 4.2 trillion in the third quarter of 2017, up 8% over the same period last year.
The figure contributed to the total turnover of Viettel Global, a unit of the Vietnamese military-run telecom group Viettel, in the nine-month period from January to September to VND 13 trillion, an annual increase of 19%.

Thus, the company’s profit reached nearly VND 3 trillion from VND 1.25 trillion last year, up 135% from a year earlier.
Recently, Viettel Global’s Board of Directors approved in principle a plan to sell 2.24 billion of its shares on the market of unlisted public companies. The unit’s assets are estimated at more than VND50 trillion.
Commencing its overseas investment in 2006, Viettel Global is now present in nine foreign markets including Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Haiti, Timor-Leste, Mozambique, Cameroon, Tanzania and Burundi.
Notably, Viettel is one of the top 30 telecoms companies in the world in terms of users, with more than 100 million subscribers, of which 35 million are outside of Vietnam.
