During the ceremony, the delegates recalled the branch's development over the past two decades. On February 24, 2004, the Dien Bien Telecommunications Center (predecessor of Viettel Dien Bien) was established. On October 15, 2004, Viettel inaugurated mobile services with the first base transceiver station (BTS) in Dien Bien, located at the Headquarters of the Provincial Military Command.

From the initial BTS stations, Viettel Dien Bien currently has over 450 BTS stations of various types, serving 345,000 subscribers. This has extended Viettel's mobile network coverage to villages, hamlets, remote areas, and beyond. The telecommunications infrastructure not only meets locals and businesses’ needs but also efficiently supports military and defense missions.

By the end of 2023, Viettel Dien Bien had achieved nearly VND 300 billion in revenue, with 2G coverage reaching 89.64 percent and 4G coverage reaching 72.16 percent.

Adhering to the philosophy of "business associated with social responsibility," Viettel Dien Bien actively collaborates with authorities at all levels to organize various social activities. To date, Viettel Dien Bien has contributed over VND 65 billion to support social activities in the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Le Huy Hoang, Director of Viettel Dien Bien, emphasized that Viettel Dien Bien has asserted its position, rising to become the leading enterprise in the field of telecommunications in the locality. The branch is determined to continue accompanying the development of Dien Bien province, he added.

In the coming time, with the spirit of "Joint efforts - Convergence of values - Building the Future," Viettel Dien Bien aims to maintain its leading position in mobile and landline broadband market share in the province. They strive to become a leading enterprise in shaping the local digital society, achieving a revenue of VND 350 billion, providing broadband and super broadband internet connection for 95 percent of households by 2025. Additionally, they plan to perfect digital products and service ecosystem, focus on creating innovative products and services, digitize sales activities with customers at the center, and train a team of experts.
