Addressing the ceremony, Director of Viettel Dien Bien Le Huy Hoang noted that this is the 10th year that Viettel has awarded the scholarships to needy students in Dien Bien. “Each scholarship, worth VND 2 million, was presented to poor students with good academic results so as to encourage them to try their best in the new academic year,” he added.

In Dien Bien province, the program has been organized for nine consecutive years and handed over 9,190 scholarships, worth totally more than 11 billion, to needy students in the locality. In the 2023-2024 academic year, 990 scholarships, worth totally nearly 2 million, have been handed over to local needy students.

During the ceremony, Viettel Dien Bien also granted scholarships to 20 students of primary and secondary schools of the communes of Hua Thanh, Muong Pon and He Muong in Dien Bien district, Dien Bien province. The remaining scholarships will be soon offered to other needy students before October 31 to help them keep up with their study.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Chairman of the Dien Bien provincial People’s Committee Vu A Bang acknowledged and hailed the support of Viettel for social security work in the locality, especially via the scholarship, which contributes to assisting poor students in their study.

He hoped that Viettel would continue to accompany the localities in this field, and implement social security policy, thereby building high-quality personnel for the province.
