Viettel CEO Major General Nguyen Manh Hung |
According to delegates at the meeting, Industrial Revolution 4.0 is now developing drastically throughout the world, with various impacts on all aspects of industry, business and social life; thus, it is urgent and important for Vietnam to train high-quality human resources to meet the revolution.
In his remarks at the event, General Hung said that Industrial Revolution 4.0 can mean “the new is replaced the old,” but what is more important is whether or not people dare to change. He stressed that Viettel closely follows the concept “Creating differences from the impossible” and applies this bold concept into its operation, innovation and human resources development.
“If one first starts by learning about the overview of Industrial Revolution 4.0 and does nothing, he/she will lose. The Fourth Industrial Revolution with tools of 4.0 helps create different ways of doing things so one will lag behind forever if he/she follows or imitates advancing people,” Viettel’s CEO explained.
Regarding personnel training for Industrial Revolution 4.0, he revealed that Viettel is following some “reverse” philosophies. For example, people usually learn about things before they start doing them but officials and workers at Viettel do things before learning about them.
According to him, knowledge of Industrial Revolution 4.0 is new and abstract; but applications of Industrial Revolution 4.0 are concrete and practical. So it is better to start doing some completely new things of Industrial Revolution 4.0 than just learning theory of these things.
With this training principle, the student-centered methodology has been applied into training courses of Viettel. Accordingly, trainees do tasks under the instruction of trainers.
Moreover, Viettel tries to train a score of subjects instead of only a subject for trainees at a training course as subjects are closely connected to one another.
General Hung also emphasized, “In the past, people tried to seek the answers to questions; but now to find questions is the key to the process.”
“On the road to success in developing human resources, Viettel’s whole staff should try their best and set higher and more difficult targets, which most people see as impossible. But when you have reached the targets, you have really created differences,” Viettel CEO concluded.
